KSS/Module Vanier staff responded by enacting the Limestone District School Board’s emergency protocol by putting the schools into lockdown and contacting emergency services.</span> <p><span><span> <br> Molly Brant Elementary School was placed into a hold and secure out of an abundance of caution. At 1:30 p.m., once police determined there was no threat, the lockdown at KSS/Module Vanier and the hold and secure at Molly Brant were lifted.<br> </span><span><br> All students and staff are safe and resumed their regular schedule for the rest of the afternoon.&nbsp;<span><br> </span></span></span></p> <p><span><span>As per regular board and school protocol, families at affected schools received direct messages with details of the incident.<br> <br> <span>A&nbsp;</span><a href="https://limestone.on.ca/board/emergency_protocols" target="_blank" title="Emergency Protocols">Hold and Secure</a><span>&nbsp;is instituted as a precautionary measure when there is a potential threat to school safety in the vicinity of schools.&nbsp; Normal operations continue inside of schools, but exterior doors are locked and students/staff are brought inside the building.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br> <br> We appreciate the quick and diligent work of school staff to maintain safety and calm during today’s hold and secure and to students for their diligent adherence to school safety protocols.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br> </span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span>If families&nbsp;have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Principal Scott Morency or the rest of the administrative team.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span>&nbsp;</span></p>

Follow the prompts.<br> </span><br> </span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span><span><span></span>These options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.&nbsp; Future absences can be reported at any time&nbsp;using any one of these methods.<br> <br> Please do not call the school directly to report your student's absence.<br> <br> If your student is marked absent and the absence hasn’t been reported in advance, our new SafeArrival system will attempt to reach the student’s priority contact by telephone to confirm the absence. You can enter the reason for the absence during this call. If our system is unable to reach the designated contacts, school office staff will follow up.<br> <br> <span>Reporting lates:&nbsp;</span>Parents/guardians are instructed to report late arrivals as a full-day absence. When a student arrives, they are expected to sign in at office and staff make the amendment in our student information system. When a student leaves early, again they are expected to sign out (with parental permission) and again the amendment is made in our system.&nbsp;<span>This method&nbsp;allows us to best track student attendance to ensure safety.</span><br> <br> The new SafeArrival system makes it easier for you to report your student’s absence, reduces the time it takes for our school staff to verify student attendance, and responds to unexpected or unplanned student absences.
