We had an awesome for the Love of Reading Week that was jam-packed full of fun and excitement! There was Olympic trivia, Zumba, door decorating and guest readers in classes. Ask your child what their favourite part of the week was!

This week our SAC also held our spaghetti dinner - thank you to all of our volunteers for making this event possible. We also want to thank our SAC for the grilled cheese lunch last week!

Term 1 Reports Sent Home Today:

Report cards were sent home with all Molly students today. We encourage families to take time to read the report card together with their child.

The report card provides information about your child’s learning progress, strengths, and areas for continued growth. It reflects a range of assessment evidence gathered over time and is intended to support next steps in learning. In addition to subject achievement, we encourage families to carefully review the Learning Skills and Work Habits section, as these skills—such as responsibility, organization, collaboration, and self-regulation—play an important role in student success.

We encourage you to celebrate your child’s efforts and achievements and to discuss goals for the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions or concerns after reviewing the report card, please contact your child’s teacher. Ongoing communication between home and the school is an important part of supporting student learning.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Black History Month

Each year, Black History Month honours the experiences, achievements and enduring contributions of Black communities in Canada, while deepening our collective understanding of their history and impact on Canadian society. The theme this year is, “30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations — From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries.” This theme celebrates three decades of Black History Month in Canada and recognizes the enduring legacy of Black Canadians, whose leadership, creativity, innovation and resilience have shaped our past, continue to influence our present, and will inspire future generations. There will be announcements throughout the month highlighting famous quotes, accomplishments and events by Black Canadians.

Safety at School - Please check in at the Office

For the safety and security of all students, we kindly remind parents and caregivers that they are not permitted in the hallways during school hours. If you need to pick up your child, drop something off, or speak with someone at the school, please check in at the main office and our staff will be happy to assist you. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Attendance Matters!

We recognize that, as the weather changes, attendance can sometimes become trickier. Student attendance is one of our TOP priorities.

End of Day Routines:

If your child has alternate pick up arrangements, or will not be taking the bus at the end of the day, please ensure that you communicate with the classroom teacher (send a note) or with the Main Office if a change occurs during the day. We cannot guarantee we can follow-through on last minute changes after 2:20 pm

Reminder: No dogs on property

Kindly be reminded that dogs are not permitted on property during school hours, even if they are leashed.

Courteous Communication

All communication between school, students and home (in person, on the phone or digitally) must be courteous and respectful. All students, families and school staff have the right to be safe, and to feel safe, in their school community. With this right comes the responsibility of all members to contribute to a positive school climate.

Cell Phones

Students may bring phones to school but they are to remain switched off, out of view and are not to be used during the day unless directed by the teacher for instructional purposes. If students brings cell phones to school, teachers will ask for them to be locked up (in a lock box) for the day. If students do not want to lock up their phones, they should be left at home.

If a student needs to call home for an emergency during the school day, they must do so using the office phone. Failure to follow the school’s cell phone expectations will result in phone call/meetings with parents/caregivers.

A reminder, that the school is not responsible for lost or damaged devices.

Thank you for your cooperation with this!

School Day Payment System

This year we will use the School Day online system for all field trip permissions and all payments to the school (i.e., hot lunch, field trips, special events, etc.). When teachers or the school creates an event, an email is sent to applicable parents. This email comes from School Day, and may go to your junk mail folder unless you identify it as a recognized sender.

All School Day events are required to have an end date. For field trips, this is usually the day before the trip, but for events involving the ordering of food, the end date must give staff enough time to coordinate with our providers and order food. Please ensure that you complete any orders/permissions before the end date.

Families will need to register for School Day www.school-day.com and use a ten-digit secure code to link you and your child(ren). These forms will be sent home next week.

Please contact your child's teacher or the office if you require assistance.
