A big thank you to our students and their families for a wonderful start to a school year like no other!  We are incredibly proud of our students and how well they have adapted to the new routines and way of school-life.  This is in large part due to the support and partnership of families and school staff.

Parking Lot:

In the interest of safety, please follow the traffic flow arrows and parking restrictions.  Entrance to the parking lot will be restricted to buses, staff, and those in need of accessible parking daily from 8:00-8:25am and from 2:15-2:45pm.

School Council:

The weather cooperated and we were able to gather in-person, outside for our September School Council meeting and elections.  The following people were acclaimed into the positions listed below for the 2020-2021 school year.  If you were unable to attend the September meetings there are still opportunities to be a part of the 2020/21 Council by putting your name forward for one of the vacancies listed below.  Nominations for these vacancies will be taken “from the floor” at our next meeting on Monday, November 2 at 6:00.  This meeting will likely need to be held virtually and you must be in (virtual) attendance to accept a nomination or to vote.  Details about how to join the meeting will be shared closer to the meeting date.

*a Member at Large who was acclaimed at the meeting has been hired as a long-term employee of LDSB and therefore cannot hold an elected position, so an additional position is available.


At the November Parent Council meeting there will be a discussion, followed by a vote, about adding the position of Indigenous Family Representative to the Council. Should this new position be created, nominations will be accepted at the December meeting.

All Council meetings are open to everyone to attend and there are different sub-committees that are always looking for volunteers. 

TriBoardTri-Board Student Transportation has indicated there will likely be more bus delays and cancellations this year due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Families should have a backup plan to transport their student(s) to school.  If a bus is cancelled in the morning, it will NOT run in the afternoon. Families would be responsible for transportation both to and from school in the result of a bus cancellation.

Families should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications either by email or Tri-Board’s app.  Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account.



Coats for Kids

Is your child in need of a coat, snow pants or a full snowsuit?  If so, please contact Ms. Carey at the school or complete online form here. Please complete your orders by October 23rd, 2020.

Students will be fitted in new or gently used clothing.  If you have any gently used items, please consider donating to the school to be passed along.
